AS THE ISL REGULAR SEASON enters its very last round, we at TFG take a look at the last remaining four matches and try to predict who will end their campaign with a bang, who will fizzle out and who will extend their season with a place in the coveted playoffs.
CHENNAIYIN FC completely dominated Mumbai City on a rain-soaked encounter at Chennai's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The home team took a 3 goal lead in the first half courtesy strikes from Stiven Mendoza, Jeje Lalpekhlua and Bernard Mendy, then controlled the game in the second half to claim a comfortable win. Mumbai City are now officially out of the race to ISL semi-finals while Chennaiyin FC are one step away from a top four berth
A DEMORALISED Mumbai City squad looked helpless and directionless on the wet turf at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai as they were completely dominated by Chennaiyin FC who took a 3 goal lead over them in the first half thanks to strikes from Mendoza, Jeje and Mendy.
THIS IS IT. The ISL 2015 has untangled its story through many twists and turns over 12 rounds, produced many frontrunners and bottom-stuck unfortunates. But the race to top four has been close enough for every single team to still be in the race; at least mathematically. But Round 13 will bring down the hammer of certainty on many teams' hopes and despairs. And we at TFG are telling you how it's going to turn out.
ROUND 12 of the Indian Super League saw the fight for top 4 come to a head, for real. It had massive goalfests and it had gritty draws. There were serious, long term consequences as well, as at least three teams had their semi-final dreams crushed.
A GOAL AND AN ASSIST from golden boot frontrunner Stiven Mendoza and a brilliant brace from Jeje Lalpekhlua saw Chennaiyin FC hunt down Delhi Dynamos at home by a massive 4-0 margin, and go up to the 4th place on the ISL points table.
GOLDEN BOOT FRONTRUNNER Stiven Mendoza shine for Chennaiyin FC once again as he scored the first goal, provided the key pass for the second and assisted in the third as the home team took a commanding 3-0 lead over visitors Delhi Dynamos.
THE TIPPING POINT IS HERE; Round 12 will see many ISL teams battle for survival as the race to top four reaches a climactic turning point. We at TFG are sticking our neck out yet again in order to call the games.
SIXTH-PLACED CHENNAIYIN FC will be desperate for a win against Delhi Dynamos in a 12th round clash here on Tuesday to brighten their semi-final qualification chances.
