Darryl Duffy says Jeje Lalpekhlua will be a good goal scoring combination for the Mariners

AFTER AN IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANE at the Calcutta Football League, Darryl Duffy will be a striker to watch out for come this season of I-league. The Scottish national was at the training ground at the Bidhan Nagar under Mohun Bagan physio Garcia. Talking to xtratime.in, Darryl Duffy shared his thoughts on the news of Jeje Lalpekhlua winning Player of the Year award in India saying,

“It’s great to hear him getting the Best Footballer Award. It will be great to strike a pair with him. I am looking forward to playing alongside him and I’m sure we will score a lot of goals between us.”

Coming in from Salgaocar SC, for whom he scored eleven goals in the last season. Duffy played in the Calcutta Football League for Mohun Bagan and netted six times in eight matches. He will be joined in the forward line by the likes of Sony Norde, Balwant Singh and Jeje Lalpekhlua.

On the pairing with Jeje and how he was looking forward to playing alongside the Indian national striker said,

“He’s very strong and his finishing has improved a lot.”

Mohun Bagan will start training session from Monday at their club ground.
