Pranaav/Sikki defeat Ivanov /Sorokina to clinch the Russian Open GP title
ANOTHER TOURNAMENT and another title victory for mixed doubles duo of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki Reddy. The second seeds defeated the crowd favourite and potential finalists in the finale Vladimar Ivanov /Sorokina in straight games 21-17, 21-19.

The Russian pair had full support from the crowd and were also higher in terms of experience. In our preview to this tournament, TFG had predicted that the Indian duo is likely to face this tough opponents in the final. Also that the Indian duo are hungry for more titles.
Before playing this tournament, they had won their first Grand Prix Gold in Brazil. This their second consecutive win and a well deserved one too.
If they can perform like this and work hard, they can be the top pair in the mixed doubles category for India. You never know in the next four years, we might also have a representation in this category at the Olympics. But they will have to do their best at the higher tier tournaments.
