This young Brazilian medio who came out from the Fluminese youth setup spent a long time on loan at lower league clubs in Brazil, as well as a spell in MLS club DC United. Coming to Chennaiyin FC last year, he had a fair season; starting 11 games and scoring 1 goal against ATK. While the medio is not at his best, but he sure did show potential.

That was why head coach Materazzi took to him and kept him on for a second year at a time when the franchise was not shying away from pursuing big names and seeking improvement in every department. 

There's a good chance that Augusto will become a pretty regular name for CFC over the next few seasons, as he grows with the franchise and adapts to the ISL environment. He is likely to be given a bigger role in the team this year.
