Srikanth ousted by German Marc Zwiebler in the QF of Japan SS
THE ONLY INDIAN HOPE at Japan Open Superseries Kidambi Srikanth crashes out after going down against Marc Zwiebler 21-18, 14-21, 19-21 in the quarter-final today.
The eighth seed held an edge over Marc but couldn't sustain for long. Srikanth won the first game and gained momentum early in the match which put pressure on the German. But in the following two games Marc came-back strong giving no room for Srikanth to take control of the match.
Srikanth fell prey to silly shots and errors which gave the match to the German. This was Srikanth's first outing since Rio Olympics.
The next challenge will be the Korea Open SS which begins next week.
