TFG Fantasy Pundit: Amla & Williamson hold key for the opener in Durban

Overview 

The first Test between SA & NZ will be played at Durban and the wicket is likely to assist the seamers initially. The Kiwis won’t tinker much with their squad, but the Proteas might surprise us with their selection. 

Probable 11 for the round 

SA- Hashim Amla, Dean Elgar, Staan van Zyl, Faf du Plessis, JP Duminy, De Kock, Vernon Philander, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Dale Steyn, Dane Piedt

NZ- Tom Latham, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls, BJ Watling, Mitchell Santner/Doug Bracewell, Neil Wagner, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Ish Sodhi 

Players who cannot be ignored 

Hashim Amla- Always a class act in Tests and has a tremendous record against the Kiwis. 

Tim Southee- Was terrific with the ball in Bulawayo and will be the strike bowler for the visitors once again. 

Dale Steyn- He is coming out of a long break, but still you shouldn’t be ignoring him. 

Dark Horses 

Kagiso Rabada- He was sensational against England last summer and could pose a serious threat to the Kiwis. 

Tom Latham- Was solid at the top and scored consistently in Zimbabwe. Not very flamboyant, but very effective.
