TFG Fantasy Pundit: Hosts unlikely to change their winning combo; bigger boundaries will be a challenge

Overview

England and Sri Lanka will lock horns in the final ODI of the series. The hosts have already won the series, but it is unlikely that they would make any changes to their playing 11.

On the other hand, the visitors might be tempted to change a few things. Also, the weather is expected to be good at Sophia Gardens. It’s a decent size ground and boundary hitting won’t be very easy.

Probable 11 for the round

ENG- Alex Hales, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow, Jos butler, Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali, Liam Plunkett, David Willey

SRI- Gunathilake, Upul Tharanga, Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Shanaka, Farveez Maharoof, Seekuge Prasanna, Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Pradeep

Players who cannot be ignored

Jason Roy- Has has been in the form of his life. It would be a complete folly to ignore him.

Joe Root- He has been relatively quiet thus far, but his innings at the Oval confirms that you can’t leave him out.

Angelo Mathews- Bowls with the new ball and will also be a handy contributor with the willow.

Dark Horses

Kusal Mendis- He has shown enough promise in this series and certainly is one of the best bets in the value for money buy section.

Alex Hales- He is yet to fire in this series, but given his recent form and class, one can expect him to fire sooner than later.

TFG Pundit XI: Alex Hales, Jason Roy(vc), Joe Root(c), Chris Woakes, Liam Plunkett, David Willey, Gunathilake, Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Suranga Lakmal

Happy Hunting!!!
