Mumbai City re-sign Mohun Bagan star and Haiti international Sony Norde

ISL FRANCHISE Mumbai City FC have announced that they are going to retain the charismatic Mohun Bagan and Haiti national team winger for the 2016 edition of the private tournament.

Sony Norde's entrance into Indian football happened in 2015 when he joined the Mohun Bagan squad in their I-League 2014-15 campaign and played a central role in helping them win the league title after 13 years, earning the award of the Best Foreign Player of the Season. He continued with Mohun Bagan in the 2015-16 season and was crucial in helping them come second in the league, go unbeaten through the AFC Cup group stage and win their 14th Federation Cup title.

A regular member of the Haiti national squad, he has been playing a fringe role in their matches for a while, and recently played a full Copa America game against Ecuador.

He was one of the popular players in the ISL for Mumbai City last year and the franchise have retained him looking to hold onto the good parts from their ultimately disastrous previous campaign.
