Prannoy feels he is in good shape and is confident of doing well at the upcoming events

ONE OF INDIA'S EMERGING PLAYERS who will take forth the badminton challenge ahead in men's singles circuit at the international stage, HS Prannoy is in good shape and feels physically fit. Last year he had tough time as a toe injury was hindering his performance because of which he couldn't give his best and was out of action for quite some time.

But since the beginning of this year, he has been in great form. He clinched the Swiss Open Grand Prix, his second GP title. Recently at international tournaments he has failed to go beyond the first or second round but nonetheless he is confident of doing well.

Talking about his fitness level to Manorama, he said,

"I have been in really good shape. I have been playing non-stop from February and physically I feel great. Fitness is such a crucial aspect and I work out for close to two and half hours a day. I must add that there is nothing like match practice and I sweat it out daily for around three and a half hours in the court as well."

He doesn't want to look at the past performances instead want to think of the tournaments that lie ahead. The upcoming international event is the Thomas Cup which kick starts next month in China.

"The Thomas Cup finals will be held in China next month and the national team members are practicing  at the (Gopichand) academy for the big event. I'm also confident of doing well at the other GPs, like the Australian Open and Indonesia Open Super Series."
