Sony Norde says his injury is healing, wants to concentrate on Federation Cup and AFC Cup

MOHUN BAGAN WINGER Sony Norde has said that his knee injury has healed a lot and he was looking forward to taking part in the Mariners' last I-League match against Bengaluru FC, as well as the upcoming Federation Cup.

Speaking to the Mohun Bagan official website, Norde said that he was looking described how his injury occured while playing for the Haiti national team and how his recovery process was going,

"It was the match played at Panama on March 29, 2016. I came in as a replacement for Wilde Guerrier. Towards the end of the game, I took a free kick which got cleared by the opponent defenders. I went for the return ball along with a Panama defender. We collided and he fell on my left leg. It was extremely painful and I could not continue the game... until yesterday, while I was doing my normal work like walking, driving etc. I was not feeling any pain, but during training when I was doing sprinting, running, sometimes I was feeling a bit of pain. However, I am much better now."

Norde said he was not yet sure about whether he would stay in Mohun Bagan next season but said his focus was on doing well in the rest of this season,

"[I want] to win the Federation Cup and keep on performing to our potential in the AFC Cup."

Talking about the prospect of playing in Siliguri where the ground was called sub-par by almost everyone, Sony said,

"Even the ground in Barasat is not that good. In this context, I would like to say that the facilities in ISL is much better than I-League. Whether I will be playing against Bengaluru, I would like to leave that decision on coach."
