Rohan Bopanna/Florin Mergea enter quarters of Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters
THE INDO-ROMANIAN PAIR OF Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea defeated Robert Lindstedt/Alexander Peya 7-5, 7-5 to enter the quarter-finals of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters.
The sixth seeds had to work hard for their win and at the end, only a few points made the difference.
Bopanna/Mergea broke their opponents four times in the match and had won just two points 75-73 more than Lindstedt/Alexander to progress ahead.
The duo didn't have a great time playing Indian Wells and Miami a few weeks back and their success in Monte Carlo will be vital for the Olympics qualification.
Bopanna/Mergea next play Jamie Murray/Bruno Soares in the quarters.
