John Johnson joins Thai club Chonburi FC, says privileged to have played with BFC

JOHN JAMES JOHNSON, a centre back who had been playing for the I-League club Bengaluru FC since 2013 bid adieu to the Indian club as he joins Chonburi FC, a Thai football club that plays in Thai Premier League.

In 2013 when the Englishman joined BFC, he became the first foreign player along with Curtis Osano to be signed by the club. He was also part of the winning team that clinched the I-League title in 2013-14.

He has 52 league matches and scored 3 goals for BFC. His first goal for the club came against Rangdajied United FC.

As the move has been finalised, Johnson took to Twitter to express his joy and excitement of playing with BFC and is looking forward towards his future club.

BFC also thanked and the centre-back and wished him luck for his future endeavours.

His teammates and the management too wished him well for his future via Twitter

Mandar Tamhane is the Chief Technical Officer of the club.
