Sony Norde lands in Siliguri, limps through terminal; doubtful for tomorrow's Kolkata Derby

AN INJURY SCARE has gripped the Mohun Bagan camp a day before the Kolkata Derby after news emerged that one of their most important players, Sony Norde, had hurt himself while he was away with the Haiti national team.

Norde, who has had an injury on his left knee for a long time this season, has been able to mostly contain it and play through it so far. But this time, it seems, he has aggrevated the old injury and has become doubtful for tomorrow's Derby.

Since Sony has been away for a while and has taken a long flight to get back in time for the Derby, it was always a doubt whether or not he would be able to play all of the game on Saturday at Siliguri. This news has added further fuel to the fire of gossip and speculation around the East Bengal-Mohun Bagan encounter that has taken on an even higher note thanks to its importance in the I-League title race.

Amidst all this, Sony Norde has just landed in Siliguri to join the Mohun Bagan team. He came out of the flight and heavily limped his way through the terminal, further aggrevating the fans' worries about his injury.

He is supposed to join the Mohun Bagan squad at their practice session in the Kanchenjungha Stadium, but looking at his condition, it is hard to expect him to practice let alone play the match.
