


Doubles shuttlers ready for New Zealand GPG; Attri/Reddy seeded 6th, Jwala/Ashwini 4th
THE DOUBLES SHUTTLERS get ready for action at the New Zealand Grand Prix Gold in Auckland. Sixth-seeded pair Manu Attri/Buss Sumeeth Reddy and unseeded duo Akshay Dewalkar/Pranaav Jerry Chopra will compete in the men's doubles category.
Attri/Reddy will be up against Shang Kai Lin/Lu Ching Yao of Taipei in round one while Akshay/Pranaav take on locals Joshua Curry/Maoni Hu He.
Women's doubles shuttlers Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnappa got a bye in the first round. The fourth-seeded pair will face either Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara of Japan or local duo of Maria Masinipeni/Jasmin Chung Man Ng in round two.

Sikki Reddy and Pranaav Jerry Chopra will be up against Jonathan Sun/Jennifer Tam of Australia in the mixed doubles category. Manu Attri and Ashwini Ponnappa have qualified to the main draw after beating Niccolo Tagle/ Deborah Yin of New Zealand 21-10 21-11 in the qualifying round. Their first round opponents are Australian pair Robin Middleton/ Leanne Choo.
There is no Indian participation in the singles category.
