Indian international Lallianzuala among DSK Shivajians U-18 players training at Liverpool

DSK SHIVAJIANS, who have a tie-up with Liverpool for running their academy, have sent 2 of their best Under-18 striker to train at Merseyside, and one of them is the Indian international Lallianzuala Chhangte.

Both Chhangte and Jerry Mawihmingthanga, who recently featured regularly for the DSK Shivajians U-18 side in the I-League U-18 and the IFA Shield, have been sent to Liverpool to go through a training session for the next couple of weeks in what is supposed to be an exposure tour of sorts.

DSK Group Executive Director Shirish Kulkarni said about this,

"It is heart-warming to see that we have players from India who have been invited on merit to train at the Liverpool FC Academy, something which has been a part of our vision for the academy since its inception... this opportunity will lay down the pathway for Indian football to follow in the coming years. It will also go a long way in establishing Liverpool FC International Academy - DSK Shivajians as the Centre of Excellence for footballers in India."

Lallianzuala Chhangte came up to the limelight when he was picked for the Indian national team in the recently held SAFF Championship. He made everyone aware of his potentials when he delivered by scoring a brace against Nepal.

Subsequently, he was not included in the DSK Shivajians first team for the I-League as the club wanted to give him enough time to develop further, away from the limelight. This training stint at Liverpool is expected to be a part of the same development process.
