PV Sindhu's winning run ends at the German GPG

20-YEAR-OLD PV SINDHU went down against the Chinese Wang Shixian in the quarter-final match of German Open Grand Prix Gold.

The 4th seed Chinese controlled the match throughout, winning it in straight games 21-16, 21-18. The seventh seed Indian tried hard to get back in the second game but Wang would not give away points easily and before Sindhu knew it, the game was over.

With this win, Wang extended the head-to-head count to 4-3. Sindhu hopes to get back strong for the All England Championship beginning next week.
