Winning French Open will be our toughest challenge: Sania Mirza

FOR THE PAST ONE YEAR, Saina Mirza/Martina Hingis have ruled the doubles circuit on the WTA Tour. Unfortunately, SanTina’s winning streak (41 consecutive matches) came to a halt at the recently concluded Doha open.

Sania/Martina have already won the first Grand Slam of the year and are on the verge of completing a career Grand Slam at the upcoming French Open in May.

That said, Sania recognizes that winning Roland Garros is going to be one of the toughest challenges for the pair going ahead.

"I hope that the chances are bright, considering we won the last three grand slams. But it is going to be our toughest Grand Slam to win. It is not our favourite surface. But we are doing whatever we can and hopefully we can get that 'Santina' slam, so to say."

The 29-year old said Hingis who has formed an Indian connect, partnering Leander Paes in the mixed doubles, loves Indian food, especially Hyderabadi food with Biryani being her favourite.
