15th seed Sameer Verma ousted from quarters at Thailand GPG
THE YOUNG SAMEER VERMA seeded 15 at the Thailand Masters Grand Prix Gold was the lone Indian shuttler who qualified for the quarter-final before being ousted by third seed Hu Yun of Hong Kong.
It was a tight three games battle between the Indian and the third seed in which Yun overwhelmed Sameer 23-21, 11-21, 21-11.
On his way to the quarters, he defeated Indonesian Kean Yew Loh in the first round and the following two rounds he beat fellow shuttlers Anand Pawar and then Harsheel Dani in the pre-quarters.
Other Indian shuttlers were ousted in the first and second rounds respectively.
