Jamil is happy with one point against Bagan; praises Pratik, Min-chol Son

MUMBAI FC HEAD COACH Khalid Jamil said he was okay with the result after his team drew 0-0 against Mohun Bagan at home.

Asked whether he was fine with one point, Jamil said,

"Haan, thik hai. We were playing against a good team, the defending champions. We had just two days to prepare. Happy."

Asked why he played Prarik Chowdhary out of position in the middle, Jamil said,

"I used Pratik there because we needed a man in the middle, like Taisuke. Bagan play with two strikers and we needed to disrupt their supply line."

Jamil also said he was satisfied with the performance of his Korean defender Son Min-chol,

"It's okay. He didn't allow them to score, and Glen is a dangerous striker. He played well."

When a reporter asked him whether the fact that his team received 5 yellow cards indicated they played a bit too rough, Jamil seemed to be taken aback,

"Hum logon ko 5? Kaun 5?... Pratik, Pradeep, Ashu... haan, sahi bola hai. Well, Ashu's was unnecessary. And otherwise Pratik... he was good."

He explained why there weren't enough chances created in the second half,

"Taisuke wasn't there so we had to shuffle the team a bit. If we had another striker it would be better. I would have pushed Pratik forward but had to sub him because of the yellow card."

Asked whether Taisuke would make a full recovery before the next game, Jamil said,

"We'll see. Tomorrow in practice we'll see how fit he is. Even if it's 50-50 we'll take him to Goa with us but we won't risk him unless he's fully recovered."
