Qatar Open finals the stage for showdown no. 47 between Djokovic-Nadal
NOVAK DJOKOVIC AND RAFAEL NADAL will play their 47th match against each other (most in an open era) in the finals of the ATP 250 Qatar Open today.
The Serb and the Spaniard have arguably formed the greatest rivalry in modern tennis history and tennis fans are in for another spectacle from two of the very best athletes in the sport.
World No.1 successfully fought through the challenge of Tomas Berdych in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 to book his place in the finals. Djokovic will be playing his 16th consecutive final on the ATP Tour.
His rival World no.5 Nadal too had little difficulties in beating Illya Marchenko of Ukraine 6-3, 6-4. In the recent-past, Djokovic has dominated Nadal by winning all their four meetings in 2015. It will be interesting to see which player gets his nose in front after tonight’s epic clash.
