Doubles shuttlers Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy clinch the Mexico City GP title
IT WAS A PERFECT end to the year for the leading men's doubles shuttlers Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy as they were crowned the champions of Mexico City Grand Prix doubles title.
The Indian duo beat Bodin Issara/ Nipitphon Puangpuapech from Thailand 22-20, 21-18 in 35 minutes. Their straight set winning streak came to an end in the semi-final match against another pair from Thailand Puavaranukroh Dechapol/ Kedren Kittinupong where the Indian pair had to fight hard for a victory and they did so by winning it 22-24, 21-15, 8-21.
The first game extended to 22 points and it appeared that the Thai pair would come back in the second, but the Indian duo did not allow that and won the set and the match to take their third title of the year.
Now they would be keen on getting some good rest by enjoying the celebrations as they have to gear up for the league in January.
