Srikanth storms into the final of the Indonesia Masters

TOP SEED INDIAN SHUTTLER Kidambi Srikanth has sealed a place in the finals after beating Gingting Anthony of Indonesia 21-13, 21-19 in the semi-finals of the Indonesia Masters Grand Prix Gold in Malang, Indonesia on Saturday.

The world no. 9 needed only 37 minutes to put the Indonesian at bay. With this the head-to-head count is levelled at 1-1. The world 39 from Indonesia tested Sirkanth in the second set when the former took the lead but the latter took better control of the game under pressure to take the lead back and eventually win the set.

Earlier this year the 19-year-old has beaten the Indian shuttler in the pre-quarters of the Indonesia Open and now again the venue being the same but a different tournament Srikanth has taken his sweet revenge.

This tournament has so far been the best for the top seed who had tough time to perform at his best in the past events.

He will now face second seeded Tommy Sugiarto from Indonesia in the final hurdle tomorrow, who leads 2-1 in the head-to-head count between the two.
