Sindhu enters final of Macau Open; ousts 2nd seed Yamaguchi; on a hat-trick of titles

TWO TIME DEFENDING CHAMPION AND FIFTH SEED PV Sindhu will defend the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold title on Sunday as she moved into the finals beating second seed Akane Yamaguchi 21-8, 15-21, 21-16 in the first semi-final on Saturday in Macau.

She is the only Indian shuttler who has survived through the tournament and now will compete in the final to clinch the title which she has won twice earlier (2013, 2014). The 20 year old won the first set with ease but in the second set,the Japanese made a comeback to win the set and push it to the decider.

The third set was not an easy one for Sindhu, as Yamaguchi fought hard to stay in the game. But the confident 20 year old has yet once again proven that she has improved and that she can handle pressure well in the big games.

This should provde her a boost in the final in which she will meet either He Bingjiao (China) or sixth seed Minatsu Mitani (Japan).
