Stiven Mendoza is an obvious choice for this list. Was benched by coach Marco Materazzi in Chennaiyin's previous match away at Kolkata, which they lost. Following that, he got a start against Kerala Blasters and boy did he do justice to his inclusion. His impeccable sense of positioning and superb finishing abilities saw him hammer home a hat-trick that seemed like a one-two-three knockout combo for the opponents. He revived Chennai's campaign, sent Kerala back to the bottom of the table and left Sunil Chhetri far behind in the race to the golden boot, all in one night. What a performance!
