Nadal outlasts Ferrer in a epic three-setter, will play Djokovic in the semis

RAFAEL NADAL REMAINED unbeaten in the Ilie Nastase group after outlasting fellow Spaniard David Ferrer 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-4 in a two and half hour thriller at the World Tour Finals in London.

The World no.5 had already booked his place in the semis before his clash against Ferrer and will now take on World no.1 Novak Djokovic on Saturday. Following a rocky start to 2015, Nadal is gaining significant momentum at the season finale in London.

Nadal started off by winning three straight games in the opening set, but Ferrer responded in typical fashion and managed to take the set into a tie-breaker. In the end, Ferrer played some sublime tennis in the breaker to nail the opening set.

However, the 14-time Grand Slam champion hit back immediately and displayed some jaw-dropping tennis to send the match into a decider. In the final set, both men indulged in long, grueling rallies and struggled to win games on serves. As the tennis reached incredible standards, Nadal seized the opportunity and broke his compatriot to eke out a hard-fought win.
