A CANDID SUBASH SINGH answered questions asked by fans in a video released by the Indian Super League official Twitter account.

Responding to a question about how a young player can develop and perfect his game, Subash spoke about the need to work harder, follow experienced players, and adhere to the guidance provided by coaches.

Citing his own ongoing lack of form, Subash told youngsters that they just have to keep working hard through these tough phases, and success will follow eventually.

The ex Pune FC and Shillong Lajong player has made 7 appearances for Mumbai City this ISL so far but has failed to score a single goal.

A Barcelona fan whose favourite player is Ronaldinho, Subash said that he always tries to observe Sunil Chhetri closely and follow everything he does in order to fine tune his own game,

"I still follow Sunil Chhetri, and try to emulate whatever he does, even in practice."

As for the general state of Indian football, Subash has a realistic perspective. He believes that it's too late for players of his own generation to make any revolutionary leap forward, but the upcoming generations will have a lot of advantages growing up as players and can help take Indian football way ahead in the world stage,

"I think Indian football is scaling new heights. After the ISL started, it has improved even more. It might be a bit late for us but the upcoming players will get a lot of advantage."

But Subash is enjoying his life as a player to the fullest, with all the thirlls and adventures that it brings along. He spoke about the things he loves best about the sport he loves and lives,

"I love the travelling. And when we go into the stadium to play, the noise of the crowd that incites passion within us to fight... that's my favourite thing about football."
