Nadal, Federer roll into R3 at the Paris Masters

World no.7 Rafael Nadal handed Lukas Rosol an old-fashioned thrashing 6-2, 6-2 in the second round of the Paris Masters 1000.

The Spaniard dropped just six points on his serve and broke the Czech a few times to roll into the third round in just about an hour’s time.

A pumped up Nadal said,

"I didn't prepare differently. It was just another match, a tough match against a difficult player. He's always tough, but I was playing much better than I did last week in the first round. I played a solid match, not many mistakes. I served well and went for the points with my forehand.”

Nadal will play South African, Kevin Anderson in the third round tonight.

Meanwhile, Roger Federer too made light work of Andreas Seppi 6-1, 6-1 en-route to the third round. The World no.2 looked in sublime touch and raced through the match in 47 minutes.

After his clinical display, Federer told atpworldtour,

“It's very pleasant to play matches like this one. Of course, I like great battles, playing two, three, four, five hours. But 47 minutes is always very pleasant. You need to focus a lot for the very short time you are on the court, not to make any mistakes. I'm very happy with this mental performance.”

The Swiss will play American, John Isner in the third round encounter tonight.
