My rivalry with Saina Nehwal is only on the court: PV Sindhu

WORLD NO.13 SHUTTLER PV Sindhu clears the air about her relation with Saina Nehwal, says they are rivals only on court:

"Our rivalry is on court. While playing of course, there will be rivalry. It is healthy competition. It's about who wins that day and both of us definitely play to win. Off the court, we are friendly with each other," said Sindhu to HT Cafe.

Sindhu finished as runner-up at the recently concluded Denmark Open, where she lost the title to Li Xuerui of China. This was her first Super Series tournament, and finishing as a runner-up is in fact an achievement for the 20-year old.

"I'm very happy with my performance. This was my first Super Series. I did lose in the final and was disappointed as I had won three matches in a row. I have to take these things in my stride. I have to look for positivity. It's a great thing that I've reached this far."

Sindhu has already has added India's fourth highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri to her collection of awards.

"I didn't know about it, as I was playing in a tournament when it was announced. Someone else informed me about it. I celebrated when I came back. I was happy, as I didn't expect a Padma Shri so early in my career."
