Benachour's father passes away, Mumbai City to wear black armbands

MUMBAI CITY FC players will be wearing a black armband tonight to mourn the passing of Selim Benachour's father. The France-born Tunisian attacking midfielder has left for Paris to be with his family during this tragic time.

Benachour's father had taken ill last week, and the player had visited France to visit him in the hospital. He returned on Saturday to play in the match between Mumbai City and FC Goa. That same day his father passed away. Benachour played the match on Sunday with the knowledge of his father's passing.

While he is back home with his family, Mumbai City players have chosen to express their solidarity with their colleague and share his grief by wearing black armbands during their match against NorthEast United tonight, in a touching display of respect and bond between sportsmen.
