IF THERE'S ONE THING the Asia Cup 2023 will be remembered for, it's the team of groundsmen in Colombo rushing in and out with the covers and working for hours to control the elements.
Mohammed Siraj, who won the Player of the Match award in the final for his destructive six wicket haul, donated his prize money of $5,000 to the groundsmen, saying the tournament would not have happened without them.
The Asian Cricket Council also announced a cash prize of $50,000 for the groundsmen for their extraordinary commitment to duty.
