The 3nd MasterCard ODI Trophy will be played between India and New Zealand, at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. The match will start at 1:30 PM IST
In the second MasterCard ODI the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and choose to bowl. the Indian bowlers bold immaculate lines and length, as a result of which they steamrolled the New Zealand batsmen out for just a score of 108 within 34.3 Overs, India chased this score in 20.1 at a loss of just two wickets.
India was on a roll with Rohit Sharma making 51 runs of 50 balls and Virat Kohli made 11 of 9 balls. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill weaved a sound partnership of 72 runs, leading the side to an easy win for the Indian side. Completely dominating the New Zealand side and winning yet another bilateral series by 2-0, India landed into a laudable position for themselves.
Now let’s talk about the third MasterCard ODI match. I would like to see a few changes in the Indian playing 11, now that the series is in their kitty. Players like Rajat Patidar being given a chance in place of Virat Kohli should go and play a domestic game for his domestic side Delhi as suggested by former India coach Ravi Shastri. This will help Virat Kohli to get in good rhythm before the important Australia test series. It great strategic move to rest fast bowler Mohammad Shami form this last one day and let Umran Malik play in his Place can be beneficial.
As for as New Zealand team goes they desperately need to find a way to score runs on this trip of India. So for they have scored very less runs in the two matches in this series, and their top order has been falling miserably. Short of forming partnerships and accumulating runs is the reason they have been so below power in this ODI series, besides the nonavailability of bowlers like Trent Boult and Tim Southee exaggerating the problem. The inexperience and lack of quality of the New Zealand bowling attack is at blatant display.
