WATCH -- Mohun Bagan celebrate official I-League 2019-20 trophy reception ceremony
MOHUN BAGAN are being handed the I-League championship trophy at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kolkata, a ceremony that will be followed by a march with the trophy to the club.

After the conclusion of the official ceremony at the hotel, the trophy was placed in a glass box on an open vehicle where thousands of Mariners accompanied it in a rally through many of the club's historic locations within the city all the way to the Mohun Bagan club house.

Elsewhere in West Bengal, famous landmarks of the state were lit up in the Mohun Bagan's Green and Maroon colours in celebration for the occasion. These included the iconic Howrah Bridge and Bardhaman's historic monument Curzon Gate.

It took the processon well over six hours to travel 12.6 kilometers from the Salt Lake to Gostha Pal Sarani, where the Mohun Bagan Ground and the club house are situated. There, fans and officials welcomed the trophy into the club tent.

This will be the Mariners' last tryst with the coveted I-League trophy as from next season onwards they are set to play in the Indian Super League. But as their parting gift, they provided the prestigious national silverware with one of its grandest welcoming rallie ever.
