SONJAY DUTT HAS BEEN a mainstay in Impact Wrestling for a long time now. He is one of the Impact Wreslting ‘originals’ on the current roster and over the years, Sonjay’s role has evolved as well.
Currently an active in-ring performer and an important backstage personnel, Sonjay answered a string of questions about Impact Wrestling last night during a Media Teleconference call.
One notable statement he gave was about the Indian market.
“I don't think you can classify that as a one-off. Me personally, I think we can go there at least once a year, that would be awesome. I think, like I said before, India is one of our biggest markets and wrestling fans in India, they crave wrestling. If I had it my way, we'd be there, every year at least,” he said.
The former X-Division champion also had some time to chip in his opinion on fellow Indian wrestler Jinder Mahal.
“Jinder and I go way back and I'm proud of the guy. I think it's amazing what he's done in the last year. Something that nobody expected. He transformed himself and he's reaping the benefits of the hard work he's put into transforming himself inside and outside the ring. I think the world” Sonjay noted.
The biggest takeaway from Sonjay’s media call was perhaps the update on Laurel Van Ness. In the call, Sonjay confirmed that the Knockouts Champion is still in the promotion.
