Impact Wrestling: A look back at some of the Most exciting matches from Final Resolution

December used to play host to one of IMPACT Wrestling's signature pay-per-view events, Final Resolution. The year was about to end and all feuds had to be settled -- today, we take a look back at some of Final Resolution's most exciting main event match-ups.

Final Resolution has played host to some great matches

Main Event Mafia vs. Front Line - Final Resolution 2008

In 2008, IMPACT Wrestling was the battleground for a war between the veterans of the sport and the stars that helped build the company from the ground up. The Main Event Mafia -- Sting, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash and Booker T took on the TNA Front Line -- AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Brother Ray and Brother Devon, in an eight-man tag team match at Final Resolution 2009. Not only was it a battle for power and control, but Sting's World Heavyweight Championship was also on the line. Once the dust had settled, it was Sting who won the match for the Main Event Mafia, retaining his title in the process. Despite the event's name, this was a rare case where it was not the final resolution of the war between these two factions continued throughout the new year.

AJ Styles vs. Daniels - Final Resolution 2009

After successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Samoa Joe and Daniels at Turning Point, AJ Styles was riding a wave of momentum heading into Final Resolution 2009. You'd expect that his long-time friend, Daniels would be proud of his success but instead, he was jealous. So much so, that he accused Styles of stealing the win from him in their three-way match at Turning Point. The two would write another chapter in their storied rivalry at Final Resolution when they met in a one-on-one showdown for the World Heavyweight Championship. After a lengthy battle, it was AJ Styles who picked up the victory, proving to Daniels that he's always been the better man.

Bobby Roode vs. AJ Styles - Final Resolution 2011

Bobby Roode was the longest reigning IMPACT Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion in history, holding the title for almost an entire year. However, he didn't become champion without a change in attitude -- he gave up his friends and family in exchange for the World Heavyweight Championship. As he became one of the most hated stars on the IMPACT Wrestling roster, it was Roode's former friend AJ Styles who tried to beat some sense into him.

The two met at Final Resolution 2011 in a 30-minute Iron Man match -- whoever scored the most pinfalls or submissions within the 30-minute time limit would walk away with the gold. The match was tied 3-3 going into the final minute and instead of defending his title with honor, Bobby Roode displayed his new attitude and avoided AJ Styles at all costs. The match ended in a 3-3 draw, allowing Roode to escape with the title.
