MATCH REPORT: A poor pitch and few chances as Jamshedpur FC drew goalless against ATK

BOTH TEAMS HUNGRY for their first win tried to play cautious at first and only committed a few players forward. The first half saw many half-chances to ATK and Jamshedpur FC as the closest any team got was the outside of the box to score. There were fouls, free kicks and a lot of passes being intercepted by, multiple times.
Jerry for Jamshedpur was the one who got the ball and always tried to for the near post which was well guarded rather the far end where a team mate was waiting. Belfort had a shot taken on goal which was blocked 2 yards in front of him. The rebound fell to Jerry whose shot could only find the side netting. The half ended goalless with both keepers not having to sweat too much. 
The second half presented an immediate chance for Robin to score as he was the only player in front of Subrata. The striker had to just get control of the ball and strike it home but the big striker could not get hold of the ball. The pitch, which looked a bit loose could have played a part, as players were at times, unable to judge the bounce of the ball. Best chance and effort of the game came from Conor Thomas as he sliced a shot and put real good power behind it to get the ball on target. It was a powerful one as Subrata could not hold on to it and pushed it away.
Jamshedpur’s closest was when Farukh’s effort from the right side took Jussi’s fingertips to be save. Prabir was booked as he pushed away the linesman’s arm. ATK had made significant progress with Bipin’s crosses as the balls just kept getting better in quality. One such cross fell to Kuqi whose effort could not test Subrata from 9 yards out. There was end-to-end action but a rather boring one as both teams tried to use long balls for starting attacks from the backline.
Goalless it finished and three goalless draws for Jamshedpur including today’s draw at home left them frustrated. ATK could not take their chances.
