After the ties with former parent club Atletico de Madrid ended, ATK decided to keep the acronym as their new name. ATK, as they will be known as, travelled to Dubai for their preparation.
Beginning their tour, in October, ATK beat Dubai All Stars comfortably 3-0 with star man Robbie Keane scoring a brace and Indian striker Robin Singh also getting on the goal scorer’s list.
Next up, ATK earned a narrow win over Dubai Irish football club 2-1; Bipin and Lyngdoh being the scorers. In their third game in Dubai, the ISL champions registered their third consecutive victory, the opponents being Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Culture Club with 3-2 scoreline. Bipin, Zequinha and Robbie Keane the scorers.
ATK’s senior team also played a practice match against the Under 19 side of Turkmenistan and emerged victorious with a 5-1 score. Two goals from Robin Singh and one each from Lyngdoh, Zequinha, Robbie Keane in the big win.
