UFC 216 saw Tony Ferguson being crowned as the new UFC Interim Lightweight champion. Ferguson defeated Kevin Lee in the main event of the pay-per-view which was held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
After a slow start, Ferguson picked up the pace and ended the fight in the third round with a triangle choke. Elsewhere, Demetrious Johnson made history at the pay-per-view when he became the first fighter to reach 11 consecutive title defenses by defeating Ray Borg. He secured the win via an armbar in the fifth round.
Might Mouse passed the record of Anderson Silva with the same. The Fabricio Werdum vs. Derrick Lewis fight was replaced in the last minute as Derrick Lewis was injured. Werdum, in turn, faced Walt Harris at the show and went home with a win.
