AS SPECULATIONS CONTINUE to rage around a possible MMA fight between tech billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, a picture posted by UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has added more fuel to the fire.
Adesanya posted a picture on Instagram - a social network owned by Mark Zuckerberg's Meta - that appears to show Zuckerberg in training with Adesanya himself and Alexander Volkanovski; the UFC Featherweight champion.
Both Adesanya and Volkanovski train at the New Zealand bassed City Kickboxing gym.
Zuckerberg looks in fighting shape in the picture and being surrounded by Adesanya - an accomplished kickboxer who utilises his striking very effectively in MMA - and Volkanovski - a well-rounded chessmaster of a fighter who can wrestle and grapple as well as strike in equal measure - sends a strong signal to Musk about the quality of training he is receiving.
However, it remains to be seen if such training can make up for his apparent size difference with Musk, who owns Meta's rival social media company Twitter.
The speculation surrounding the proposed fight - which both billionaires have agreed to - has grown wilder with time. UFC President Dana White has already agreed to book and promote the fight, and at one point there were rumours that the famous Colossium of Rome was going to host the MMA bout.
However, a large section of the populace has refused to take it seriously; calling it a gimmick. But maybe Zuckerberg's physique and training partners will convince some of them that he takes this fight seriously and it's really going to happen.
