Fantasy Cricket: TFG Pundit tips for India v Australia 1st ODI

tfg-orange

Overview

India will take on Australia in the first match of the five-match ODI series in Chennai Tomorrow. India are currently on a high after whitewashing the Lankans in their own backyard a few weeks ago. On the other hand, the Aussies are ranked just ahead of India and although they will start as the slight underdogs, their experience of playing in India before should keep them in good stead.

As far as conditions go, we expect a belter of a wicket at the Chepauk which is going to be dominated by the top order batsmen from both teams. There is going to be no assistance for the seamers and while the spinners will always fancy their chances, we feel every bowler will travel the distance tomorrow. On the weather front, we expect a hot day in Chennai and showers during late afternoon are predicted. However, it is difficult to see a curtailed game.

As far as team combination goes, at the last minute, Axar Patel has been ruled out of the first three ODIs with a sprained ankle and Ravindra Jadeja has been called in as a replacement. That said, there is no guarantee that the all-rounder will play tomorrow. Shikhar Dhawan too has been ruled out and it will be interesting to see if Ajinkya Rahane gets the nod at the top, that he so rightfully deserves.
