Telangana CM to Jwala Gutta's rescue, writes to PM for inclusion in TOP scheme

HYDERABADI BADMINTON CHAMP Jwala Gutta is on cloud nine. The Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist met the Telangana CM KCR yesterday evening, following her memorable victory at the recently concluded Canada Open along with her doubles partner Ashwini Ponnappa.

During her interaction with KCR, Jwala spoke to him about the Union Ministry of Sports' decision of not including her name in the Target Olympic Podium (TOP) list of players, who will receive funds for training for the 2016 Olympics. Responding positively about Jwala's plight, KCR immediately wrote a letter to the Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi to consider including Jwala's and her doubles partner's name in the TOP list.

In the past, Jwala has openly vented or her angst on the Indian Badminton Chief Coach, Gopichand, and the sports ministry for not considering several laurels that she and Aparna had won. KCR explained all of Jwala's achievements in detail in his letter to Modi and requested him to include Jwala's and Ashwini's name in TOP list.
