Tutu Basu denies Mohun Bagan - Tata deal, calls an ISL-related press conference on Monday

MOHUN BAGAN PRESIDENT Tutu Basu has trashed specualtions that the club is about to ink a sponsorship deal with the Tata Group.

Speaking to reporters after the Mariners' practice session at the club ground, he told the media,

"There is no deal with Tata... we'll se what happens."

Sources close to the club had earlier told TFG that a negotiation between Tata and top Mohun Bagan officials was indeed in progress regarding sponsorship with ISL in mind.

This statement from the club president can mean one of two things: either the deal has fallen through, or the negotiating parties wish to keep it quiet until the agreement is finalised.

Mr Basu also informed the media about a press conference on Monday, where the ISL issue will be addressed. Interestingly, on the 22nd, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan officials will meet AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das in Mumbai to discuss their participation in ISL. The timing of this press conference does indicate that there will be some information regarding that meeting will be disclosed in the event.
