Play-by-Play: FC Goa edge past Mumbai City thanks to solitary strike by Richarlyson

The decisive goal came 41 minutes into the game when a corner kick perfectly delivered by Julio Cesar was picked up on a tricky bounce and impeccably shot towards the goal by Richarlyson, which took the bottom of the crossbar and went into the net.

Goa created multiple chances, most of them with a lot of input from Julio Cesar, but none resulted in goals. Robin Singh missed a couple of easy chances, and Raju Gaikwad missed a header into an open net.

Most of the time the gameplay was slow and dragged, and four players suffered hamstring or cramp related injuries that forced them to be substituted. The pressure of the congested fixtures of ISL seemed to be having a negative impact on the players' performances.

With this win, FC Goa are up to 4 points from 5 matches. It's their first win in ISL 2016 but they are still bottom of the table. Mumbai City are also 2nd in the table but now they are on 8 points from 6 matches.

Here's how the match unfolded in real time, narrated through our blow-by-blow updates of the game...
