KBFC hold on to the proven talents of Antonio, Josu, Gurwinder & Mehtab

KERALA BLASTERS' fans will see four of their players yet again playing for the yellow and blue outfit in the upcoming season of Indian Super League (ISL). The Sachin co-owned franchise have retained two of their foreign players Antonio German and Josu Currais Prieto and two of the Indian stars including Gurwinder Singh and Mehtab Hossain.

Though the team did not put up a great show there were few players that displayed outstanding performance. The Englishman Antonio played nine matches last season and scored a total of six goals. He was productive on field and having him back will surely boost the team. Under the new coach he is expected to do better. After the ISL stint he played for Scottish club Partick Thistle FC that plays in the top division league of Scotland.

The Spanish midfielder who is commonly known as Josu too played an important role for KBFC. Played 11 matches and scored one goal. Before coming back to his Indian franchise he played for the United Soccer League (third division) side Wilmington Hammerheads FC.

Thirty-three old defensive midfielder Mehtab Hossain has been part of ISL team since its inception playing nine matches in the first season and five in the second. Having a senior player like him will showcase experience on the field and in the dressing room.

Finally, another senior player who has been with the team since the first season. Thirty-year old Gurwinder Singh played a total of nine matches in first and three matches in the second season of ISL.

It would be interesting to see how under the new coach, these players will perform to get their team on top and give their fans what they want. A good season that will make the fans forget the past.
