‘Nostalgic’ Dravid looks back on a memorable debut as India's 207th Test player
FORMER INDIA CRICKETER Rahul Dravid shared a photograph of his first India Test cricket jersey, recalling his debut at the home of cricket- Lord's 20 years ago against England. The elegant batsman debuted alongside former India captain Sourav Ganguly.
The prolific batsman’s debut innings drew a lot attention from the cricket pundits as he struck a 95 off 237 balls with his proper cricketing shots. He then went on to play 164 Tests and scored a mammoth 13,288 runs, collecting 36 centuries and 64 half-centuries. In the list of all time Test run-getters, the legendary batsman lies steadfast at the fourth spot.
Dravid hung his boots after India’s tour of Australia in 2011-12 and since then has been associated with cricket in some way or the other. Currently, he was occupied coaching India A and India under-19 teams.
