Saina & Sindhu: The only shuttlers to enter round two of Badminton Asia Championship

WOMEN'S SINGLES SHUTTLERS Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu registered straight round wins in the first round of the Badminton Asia Championship held in Wuhan, China.

5th seed Saina defeated Fitrirani Fitrirani of Indonesia 21-16, 21-17. Her second round opponent is Nitchaon Jindapol from Thailand and Saina dominates in the head-to-head count, 6-0.

Unseeded Sindhu had an easy outing against Maria Febe Kusumastuti. She defeated 21-10, 21-13 in just 30 minutes. In round two, eighth seed Taipei shuttler Tai Tzu Ying awaits Sindhu. Tai leads in the head-to-head count, 3-2.

On the other hand, men's singles shuttler Kidambi Srikanth went down fighting against Korean Lee Dong Keun. The eighth seed Indian was defeated in three games, 21-13, 12-21, 19-21. 

Men's doubles and women's doubles shuttlers too exit BAC after losing their first round matches. Manu Attri/Sumeeth Reddy were defeated by fifth seeds Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa of Japan 15-21, 13-21.

Or Chin Chung/Tang Chun Man defeated Akshay Dewalkar/Pranaav Jerry Chopra 21-19, 21-17. Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnappa were ousted by Korean pair Chang Ye Na/Lee So Hee 15-21, 11-21. 

Yesterday mixed doubles pair of Arun Vishnu/Aparna Balan suffered defeat at the hands of Dechapol/Sapsiree of Thailand 13-21, 13-21.
