Prannoy, only shuttler in men's singles to enter the second round of China GPG
MEN'S SINGLES SHUTTLER HS PRANNOY was the only player in the category to move ahead in the China Masters Grand Prix Gold. The seventh seed defeated Joo Ven Soong from Malaysia in three games 19-21, 21-14, 21-18.

In the second round Prannoy will take on Chinese shuttler Huang Yuxiang, the head-to-head count is in favour of the latter 1-0.
Meanwhile, third seed Kidambi Srikanth continued his dismal run as he was ousted by Lin Yu Hsien in round one. It was a straight game loss for the Indian, 12-21, 17-21.
Other two shuttlers in this category, Parupalli Kashyap and Sameer Verma withdrew from the tournament. Womens' singles shuttler Saina Nehwal too withdrew from her category.
