I-League enters international break: 5 ways the clubs can be affected by this halt in fixtures

THE I-LEAGUE has entered an international break. The teams, tired after weeks of grinding it out through an intense fixture list, are getting a breather of sorts. Some of the luckier players are setting off to join the national team in the World Cup qualifiers, while others will have the chance to regroup and figure out their approach for the final lap of the league season.

This two-week halt of the week-in week-out league commitments has the potential to shake things up quite a bit in the I-League's status quo. It will afford certain clubs enough time to re-evaluate and re-work their strategy for April. Others will get the time to recover from injuries or simply shake off the fatigue.

The effects will be different on every club. Some will benefit immensely, others may have their good momentum messed with as. And all this may add up to have a profound enough effect on the league's title race and relegation fight that the final outcome may have a thing or two it owes to this break.

Let's take a closer look at how certain clubs can use this break or be affected by it.
