Materazzi promises an attacking game in 50-50 final despite home advantage to Goa

CHENNAIYIN FC MANAGER Marco Materazzi has said his team is not going to turn up to play a defensive game at the ISL final.

Speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference at Margao, Goa; the World Cup-winning former Italian centre-back said,

"This year the team that has scored more goals, have reached the semi-finals and I am happy both Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa have made it and both are playing attacking game."

Saying that FC Goa will have a slight advantage due to the match being played at their home ground, the Fatorda Stadium, the Chennaiyin FC coach said his team will be ready for the challenge when the ball gets rolling,

"We are looking forward to the beautiful game and we will play an entertaining game to win tomorrow."

Chennaiyin FC missed out on a berth at the final last year despite finishing at the top of the table in the regular season. Materazzi said he is happy that this year the best teams have made it to the grand finale.

Adding that there is no injuries in his squad, Materazzi said his team is prepared to put up a fight through the duration of the game, be it 90 minutes or 120,

“We were defeated in the last game. Twenty days ago, we were almost eliminated. We were fighting to survive. Now, despite our win here [at Fatorda during regular season], it’s a 50-50 game."
