Sehwag hints at retirement from international cricket, leads to confusion
ONE OF THE greatest modern day cricketers of Indian cricket and a magnificent opening batsman, Virender Sehwag has hinted at retirement from international cricket. Sehwag was at the launch of the Masters Champions 2020 League in Dubai on Monday.
Sehwag's decision to retire comes just four days after speedster Zaheer Khan called it quits, and one day before the Delhi batsman turns 37. The explosive batsman last played for India in 2013 in a Test against Australia at Hyderabad, and will be drawing curtains on a 14-year long and illustrious career, when he makes an official announcement.
Viru's decision may have come as a surprise to many, but it was surely imminent as the cricketer hasn't been recalled to the national side in any of the three formats. Sehwag attended the launch of the star-studded MCL 2020, where retirement from international cricket is a pre-requisite for participation.
The news of his so-called retirement spread like wild fire and Viru pa's fans were all over the internet, thanking him for his fantastic contribution to Indian cricket.
Only one Virender Sehwag. India's most entertaining Test match opener. Unreal hand eye coordination. Grounded. Humble. All class.
