Subrata Paul dope test: veteran keeper must present his case to NADA panel in three weeks

SUBRATA MADE A COMEBACK into the Shivajians first team in yesterday's Federation Cup tie against Bengaluru FC. The team stood by the veteran keeper and handed him the capatain's armband. Subrata returned the gesture to the club by pulling some great saves and keeping a clean sheet for the team.

Now, Subrata has another save to make and this time it is his own case that he has to defend. Subrata was tested positive for Terbutaline, a banned substance, before the national team left for the match against Cambodia. Subrata was given three weeks to prepare a case to be presented to clear the charges. He will have to present the case to a disciplinary panel formed by the National Anti-Doping Agency (Nada).

Nada director general Navin Agarwal said the custodian was free to play since the Terbutaline did not require immediate suspension,

"He is free to play till the panel makes a decision," Agarwal said.

DSK Shivajians play their final game of the group stage tomorrow against Shillong Lajong at 4 pm.
